Community Service
Troop 76 is involved in many community service activities throughout the year. These activities provide a great opportunity for scouts to help out their community while also earning valuable hours towards their next rank advancement. Most activities occur on an annual basis and those are reviewed below. Other opportunities and addition to details on each opportunity can be found in our google group.
Memorial Day
Troop 76 is the only boy scout troop in town that participates in both the Tarriffville and Simsbury parades. Our scouts also assist the VFW and American Legion in placing flags on veterans’ grave sites at the town’s cemeteries.
Flag Day
Troop 76 participates in Flag Day ceremonies in Simsbury each year (June 14) when the troop places flags along Hopmeadow Street, serves as color guard, and retires of out of service flags.
First Church of Christ
The troop cleans up the church grounds each spring before Easter, assists at the arts festival, and provides other service as needed.
